ABOUT ME
BEHIND THE LENS
David picked up his first 35 mm SLR camera in the early 80’s. Not satisfied just taking photographs he soon found himself experimenting with different films and playing in the darkroom. Ansel Adams work in black and white and landscapes was a big influence. David’s passion for photography has found him crawling out of a tent at four in the morning to capture a sunrise over a fog shrouded lake to asking complete strangers for their photograph. With the advent of digital he moved from SLRs to DSLRs and from the darkroom to Photoshop. Although he has shot a wide variety of genres his primary body of work is in wildlife, landscapes, Cosplay, special effects and fantasy. Although the tools have changed over time David’s general approach has remained that photography is the art of painting with light.
